The BMW i3 94Ah with Range Extender has won the Best Plug-in Car (with CO2 emissions from 1-50 g/km) award at this year's Fleet News Awards, hosted on Wednesday 15 March 2017 at Grosvenor House Hotel in London. The announcement comes just three weeks after the BMW i3 94Ah with Range Extender also won the Best SME Green Company Car award.

"Surprisingly practical and with a striking design, the i3 Range Extender offers a decent range with the added security of the range-extender petrol engine," commented the judges. "It is great to drive and has competitive running costs thanks in part fo the clever use of carbon fibre technology for low-cost repairs."

The prestigious Fleet News Awards aim to recognise excellency among fleet operators, leasing companies, rental companies and other fleet suppliers in the UK fleet market. Finalists are judged by a broad panel of industry experts with an independent chairman - former Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) chief executive Christopher Macgowan. The process is audited by Deloitte to ensure all contenders receive proper consideration.
