BMW owners can now stay connected with their car via Google Assistant and BMW Connected. This means drivers are able to control vehicle functions from their mobile or Google Home speaker with simple voice commands. This latest addition joins the recent inclusion of other voice command systems from Amazon Alexa and the Apple and Android smartwatch interaction assistants.

To trigger the app, users simply say, “Ok Google, ask BMW…” and then add an individual request. It can be anything from “When should I leave?” to “Send the address to my car”. The combination of voice commands integrated with BMW Connected offers drivers a more comfortable and stress-free driving experience, while also allowing for improved personal mobility.

Now drivers can access their car remotely from their Google Assistant activated speaker

BMW Connected offers drivers a quick and easy way to manage their driving. With a simple voice command, the app can offer advice on route planning and leaving times, calculated with real-time traffic updates. The app also helps drivers manage their appointments, as well as check if the windows are locked or see the amount of charge their BMW i3 has left. This is achieved by linking the selected digital device to the car through the Open Mobility Cloud system.

This latest innovation has come as a part of our NUMBER ONE > NEXT initiative. Its aim is to continue integrating more technology and deliver a more connected and driver focused experience.
