THE NEW BMW M3 CS.
Cars & Technology20 Nov 2017
We’re proud to announce the release of the new BMW M3 CS, set to go on sale in January 2018. This limited-edition model combines a high-performance driving experience with everyday practicality. Custom features including a Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) roof, sporty M suspension set up and turbo charged engine mean that this car deserves its M and CS badges.
The power for the new model is provided by a six-cylinder in-line engine. Taking advantage of BMW M TwinTurbo Power engine technology, the BMW M3 CS goes from 0 to 62mph in 3.9 seconds. With the 460hp engine, the car has an incredible, supercar-rivaling, top speed of 174mph.
Adaptive M suspension means the new BMW M3 CS takes on tight turns with ease
Channelling that power is important, which is why the BMW M3 CS is designed for dynamic driving. Equipped with ‘M Servotronic’ steering, Adaptive M suspension and our Dynamic Stability Control system, the new model offers outstanding traction. These aspects combined with decades of BMW Motorsport heritage make the car perfect for the track and the road.
Optional BMW M Carbon-Ceramic Brakes offer improved braking and save weight
The BMW M3 CS was designed to be lightweight, with the end product weighing just 1,585kg. To achieve this, where possible we used weight-saving CFRP to replace traditional materials. Switching over the bonnet, roof and rear diffuser also had the added benefit of lowering the centre of gravity, providing a more agile car.
Completing this special edition is a muscular and athletic exterior design. It features the iconic BMW double kidney grille and a distinctive three-part front splitter on the bonnet. Designed specifically for the new model, the interior sports a bi-colour Silverstone/black leather palette and red start/stop button to ignite the BMW M3 CS on every drive.
