BMW Team RLL finished the sixth GTLM round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville (CAN) in seventh and eighth position, after both BMW M8 GTE cars had led parts of the race. The #25 BMW M8 GTE crossed the line 13.7 seconds from the class winning #67 Ford, with Connor De Phillippi (USA) and Alexander Sims (GBR) sharing the driving duties. The #24 BMW M8 GTE of John Edwards (USA) and Jesse Krohn (FIN) was forced to retire from the lead of the race on lap 61 after contact damaged the car.

There were just five days between the six-hour race at Watkins Glen (USA) and the start of the race weekend at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park near Bowmanville (CAN) for BMW Team RLL. Although the two IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship circuits are only around 300 miles apart, this was one of the most challenging weeks for the team.

Cars, team members, spare parts and equipment: transportation was planned in minute detail. Everything started at Watkins Glen: both BMW M8 GTEs were rebuilt on the Monday and Tuesday after the race in the paddock, with ten mechanics working on each of the two BMW M8 GTEs.

On 3 July, both BMW M8 GTEs, along with around 2,000 more parts, were loaded onto the team truck. The travel time was just under five hours, however, each individual part had to be documented and the BMW Team RLL had to prepare around 25 pages of paperwork just for the first truck.

The two other trucks start their journey on the 4 July, a national holiday in the USA, transporting around 3,000 additional parts. Spare parts were dispatched to Canada before the race in Watkins Glen, to ensure that they are there when the team arrived. The team headquarters also stored pre-assembled chassis that could be dispatched overnight to Canada if required.

All the cars and parts were loaded back onto the trucks immediately after the race. The entire team then drove through the night to return to the headquarters in Ohio. The most exhausting week of the year for the BMW Team RLL then finally drew to a close at around 3am on Monday. The next IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race is at Lime Rock Park (USA) on 21 July.
